‘What you feel is who you are…’ It is a beautifully written and illustrated peep-through picture book presenting feelings in a gentle and sensitive way. Through lovely rhyming text and metaphors, this book puts feelings into words and drawings match the atmosphere of this book. Feelings presented in this book are: *Brave * Sad *Angry * Happy * Jealous * Alone *Embarrassed * Excited * Afraid * Calm
I like the introduction of a feeling of being calm, which is not very often mentioned in books for children.
It is a great mix: the positive message that we are all different, that we are all under the spell of our many different feelings and they make us who we are. The thoughtful naming and describing of them, and acknowledging others’ feelings as well as our own.
This book is a beautiful resource both to work with children at school as well as at home as it provides a calm and thought provoking read and illustrations.
